Fresh Whole Tea Leaves Reach Enlightened Consumers
Dragon Pearl Tea's Quality Is Reflected in Beautiful Bamboo Displays
September 26, 2007
Grover Beach, CA-- Dragon Pearl Teas' new bamboo retail display has breated a splash in its first pilot stores in California, more than doubling its per-store sales.
The display is a custom design, made of a single, extra-tough piece of bamboo triple-ply board, which stands at an angle with shelves added to hold a case of each tea flavor.
One of the remarkable things about the display is the amount of product value it holds: when full, it offers over $700 of retail product in a 13x19 square inch footprint. Currently the displays hold green, white, oolong and black teas.
The bamboo display is also inordinately expensive for the typical grocery store presentatio--over $120 per unit. But according to the company, it will pay off by reflecting the quality of the product in the point-of-purchase display.
"People notice the display instantly," said Judah Sanders, Dragon Pearl's chief executive. So it helps get people to try our tea and become familiar with our brand."
The bamboo displays are made of natural, renewable resources.
